We’re seeking a Salesforce Database Administrator (Intern) to manage the ongoing development, implementation and administration of the applications in our Timeraiser Information System Database (TIMS), implemented through the Salesforce.com platform. The TIMS is the backbone to our entire organization. This position is ideal for Computer Science/Engineering students or recent graduates in the field.

Responsibilities include:

  • Add an additional 2,500 Accounts and 10,000 Contact records in SFDC database
  • Eliminate or merge existing Account and Contact records
  • Standardize naming conventions for Accounts, Campaigns and other custom objects
  • Upon standardizing our naming conventions, ensure that records are cleaned up to follow the new naming convention
  • Maintain and run monthly reports on tasks, activities, volunteer hours, and processes to continuously monitor the data quality/integrity in TIMS
  • Improve the integration of third party applications such as Vertical Response (email marketing), Apprio (Google Apps) and Quickbooks
  • Work with the Framework team to customize page layouts to meet our organization’s needs
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve SFDC data / custom object errors as they occur
  • Develop and communicate a road map for future TIMS releases/enhancements
  • Document database architecture and custom application design in our IT portal
  • Document the workflow, triggers, bugs, lessons learned and related information on our IT portal so that other non-profit organizations can learn from our SFDC experience
  • Prepare regular status updates that will be communicated to the Salesforce.com Foundation
  • Organize communication templates and create custom email templates within SFDC for selected corporate and community partners (e.g. Molson Registration Code)
  • Administer regular backups of SFDC data
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest SFDC releases, technologies, applications, and integrations; implementing the best new applications that enhance our use of Salesforce.com
  • Contribute monthly updates and /or observations to the Civic Footprint Blog

  • Enrollment in a Salesforce.com Level 1 certification course. The certification is valued at $3,000 in addition to costs associated with taking the exam.
